My new VT ritual - vacuume the baking soda out of my boots. A few weeks ago my boots smelled like dead squirrel (literally, dead squirrel) so I started leaving baking soda in them and, man oh man, now they smell clean as a baby’s freshly wiped bum!: 7 seasons on these boots. SEVEN SEASONS! (prob 200 days?) That is UNHEARD of! (esp when new Burton stuff lasts me 20-40 days). They’re Vans signature Daniel Frank’s (who??) from 2001 which I bought them at the tail end of my snowboard instructin’ days after my wkd roommate (Dan Kittery / Kellaher) gave me a gift certificate to the local shop for letting him crash with me for free. I remember these being a bitch to break in (5-7 days?) but man, they are PERFECT now. I have no idea what I’d replace them with. (btw, I’m on my third pair of laces with these, but the boots have held up like magic!)
